I have enjoyed coming here for many years. Easy parking, fair pricing, and on weekdays, is like having the mountain to yourself. I have only two critiques: First, the website and purchasing format, is awful. Too many confusing and unnecessary steps to make a reservation. Second, the lifts are painfully slow. On COLD and windy days, it feels like an eternity up in those chairs. When Catamount was taken over by new ownership, they immediately put a lot of money and effort into its redevelopment. I was hoping that high speed lifts were among the investments! That said, the grooming and trail diversity alone, makes it worth the trip...... Full Review

I came to Catamount in January 2017 for a quick day of skiing. The area has had no snow at all, but the snowmaking was decent. Conditions aside, the skiing is quite good. However, the facilities are in serious need of updating. The facilities are extremely old and outdated. The main "lodge," and I hesitate to call it that, had 3 toilets in the main restroom, with old, creaky doors that barely worked. The cafeteria was very small, did not have anywhere near enough seating, and again just very outdated. It's fine for a quick ski day, but don't expect much. I will not be returning.... Full Review

I am a good expert skier, skied all my life and this mtn is good enough for a quick getaway for making turns. Its not Vail but it has a few decent trails to make tracks on. Bumps form on some of the trails if thats your deal, but there are some nice longish runs to make some nice GS turns too. Go Play!... Full Review

I agree that it is the most underrated mountain. It has great combination of steep terrain and easy beginner runs. This is my go to mountain! It is close to home and great skiing. They have a well run kids program and childcare room for those that require it. Overall it is great value! Although I think the lodge could use a face lift... For the same vertical height, I would not drive any further to butternut which I think has much less challenging runs or jiminy.... Full Review

Catamount packs a solid combination of steep runs and short lift lines. The mountain is organized into two parts: the meadows beginner side and advanced-intermediate side. This keeps the beginners away from advanced skiers and snowboarders, which makes the mountain much safer and more fun to ride. In addition, Catamount's black and double black runs are easily some of the steepest in southern New England. This mountain is an ideal place for both advanced skiers and beginners. However, I would recommend seeking food options in nearby Hillsdale as opposed to eating at the base lodge. Both Four Brothers and Crossroads are on the way to the Taconic State Parkway and are great places to have a post ski-day meal. ... Full Review
