Mountain Creek’s terrain is spread across four interconnected mountain peaks: Vernon Peak, South Peak, Granite Peak, and Bear Peak. Each offers a distinct vibe and layout, giving skiers and riders a variety of experiences in one resort. Vernon Peak is the heart of the resort, home to the Red Tail Lodge and the Cabriolet Gondola. It features a mix of beginner and intermediate trails like Sugar Slope and Horizon, ideal for warming up or cruising with the family.

South Peak is where freestyle riders gravitate. With multiple terrain parks including South Peak Park and the Boarderline Park, it’s a playground of jumps, rails, and creative features. The lift-served access and dedicated park grooming make it a standout for progression and style. Intermediate skiers will also enjoy trails like Thunder Run, which offers wide turns and consistent pitch.

Granite Peak delivers a more advanced experience. Trails like Kamikaze and Freefall are steep, fast, and often less crowded, making them ideal for carving and speed. The natural terrain here includes ridgelines and glades, offering a more rugged feel. Snowmaking ensures coverage even during lean snowfall periods, and the summit views are some of the best in the region.

Bear Peak is the quietest of the four, favored by locals for its mellow vibe and scenic trails. Beginners will appreciate the gentle slope of Easy Street, while intermediates can explore Bear Claw and Fox Run. The terrain here is tree-lined and peaceful, perfect for those looking to escape the bustle of the main base.

Families should start their day on Vernon Peak, where the learning area and tubing park are easily accessible. The Drop Zone Snow Tubing Park is a must-try, especially for kids and non-skiers. For those looking to explore the full mountain, the interconnected lift system makes it easy to hop between peaks without removing your gear.

Expert skiers will find their challenge on Kamikaze and the upper sections of Freefall. These runs offer steep pitches and variable conditions that reward precision and control. While Mountain Creek doesn’t have open bowls or backcountry terrain, its trail diversity and park features make it a dynamic destination for all skill levels.
