Full review

I have been regularly skiing mountain creek this year and every time I go I end up so frustrated. The parking alone is a nightmare. I park in the North Lot. Sometimes there are parking tenants there to direct you to a lot and sometimes you find your own spot. The lots are largely not paved and tattered with huge boulders that you must dodge in addition to all the people walking in these lots. Other times I'll turn in the North lot and told I have to pay $20 for general parking-not the preferred lot (which I am 99% sure this guy was pocketing the money). Then once I am parked, the kids and I get out and start the 10-15 minute walk to the ski school with all our gear in tow (ski's, boots, poles, etc). It is because of this part of the process that I gave a 1 star for family friendly. The parking situation is awful, especially when you have young kids. In addition, if you purchase your lift ticket online, it is non-refundable and very difficult to make any changes once you have paid. The main reason we go to Mountain Creek and tolerate this ill-managed operation is for one instructor at the ski school. We have had great success with an instructor and he has been fabulous teaching my kids how to ski. Aside from the awesome instructor my kids have, the ski school operations are very poor. It is difficult to schedule private lessons and even difficult to get anyone to return your call or respond to your email. What provoked me to write this review after today's visit is to address the over crowding. There is a fundamental lack of support and education for the new/inexperienced skiers and people that don't understand the proper skiing etiquette. Everyone should know, when you rent ski's (from mountain creek or another vendor) the skis are engraved with a number. Renters should know their number. Today, my rental ski's were taken by someone else (by mistake, I am hoping). So when I return from lunch, in the lodge, to find my ski's missing, but my kids ski's were still there, I'm left wondering what do I do.?.? The amount of skis piled up outside the lodge was horrendous. If someone didn't understand the numbering system on ski rentals, it would be very easy to grab the wrong pair. Unfortunately, that pair they grabbed were my ski's and as a result, I was charged $300 for "stolen" ski's, even when I approached the vendor and explained my ski's were not where I put them, alongside my kids ski's. The over crowding and lack of education/knowledge by Mountain Creek's customers is a MAJOR issue! This resort only wants one thing...your MONEY! They don't care about your belongings, your safety or your experience. They only care about your $$.
