I love this place, good skiing at a very good price, plus it’s 20 minutes from my house. However they have two chairlifts and both are awful. Blue is extremely slow for its size, and yellow hasn’t opened in multiple years as far as I know, and that’s where all the good black diamonds are. Also I wish their season was longer.... Full Review

Mt Holiday is an amazing little gem tucked away in Traverse City that I have been enjoying for a few years. Mt Holiday has always been a great place for beginners to learn, and the staff have really done a great job of making our time their memorable and enjoyable. Other than the fact that their rental gear is in serious need of upgrade and they don't have their second of two chairlifts open yet this winter, they're doing a fantastic job at providing a safe and fun place for young people to explore the snow.... Mt. Holiday is a great place to go if you want someplace to spend the day skiing, but don't want to get ripped off. Their bar food is anything but and their staff are helpful and patient. One of two ski resorts in Traverse City and the only non-profit in the state, Mt. Holiday is a great place to spend the day or night skiing and tubing. They are also in the process of installing a zipline, so that will add another fun filled adventure for the family.... Full Review

There are two policies this place has that people need to be aware of. One is that if their lift breaks after you go down the slope only once, you are still paying full price because they are "non-profit and refunds are against their policy". Second, it takes them an hour to realise the problem and not start to fix it at all, but they will assure you every twenty minutes that everything will be fixed in twenty minutes. So, repeatedly lying to their customers is their second great policy.... Full Review

One of Traverse City's two ski hills--and the only one with chairlifts--it's a fun little place to make a few turns. The vertical is only 210 feet, though it still has a nice view of TC and Grand Traverse Bay at the top. It is enjoyable when you go in without expectations of grandeur (if you want a bigger hill, there are several within two hours' drive; if you want mountains, why are you living in Michigan?). It is an old-school hill that makes me nostalgic for my younger days; as I'm so reminded by all the kids who frequent the place. The chairlifts may seem a bit rickety but it just adds to the hill's character.... Full Review

I first skied at Holiday in 1967 as a student of the Traverse City Record Eagle ski school. Thus began my love affair with skiing. I have so many wonderful memories of skiing at Holiday and the runs of the day: Marvelling at the peaceful view over East Bay from Ridge Run, moguls on Pepi, thrills in Coffin Canyon, learning how to stem christie on Snowshoot, mastering parallel skiing on Upper and Lower Holiday. Hours spent socializing with friends in the lodge after a great ski over hot chocolate and a grilled cheese sandwich; these are the things memories are made of. I would hope that families can continue to build their own skiing skills and memories as I did for generations to come.... Full Review
