So many high speed lifts and tremendous vertical to be had. Wide open long groomed runs with great views. Doesn't get better than this. Not a place known for deep powder though which is fine by me.
Amazing views and grooming. Usually sunny weather. Town is very close by and walkable. Nice vibe. Luxurious lodges.
Low snowfall.

Beautiful mountain, no lines, but not for beginners. Amazing snow 22/23 season but that's not always the case. Ketchum is an awesome "real" town- friendly and without the pretentiousness of some other ski areas
No lines, lots of terrain, Ketchum is fantastic
Technically challenging, not for beginners

I can ski many blue and some black trails at other mountains but not at Sun Valley. Green trails are equivalent to difficult Blue and Black trails at other resorts. Green trails are concentrated at the top of the mountain at Seattle Ridge with only two green trails to the very bottom. With flat light conditions plus difficult slopes I decided to go to Dollar Mountain and had a reasonable time on an a 500 ft hill. Staff was great and very helpful but overall I was disappointed. Too bad, i was really looking forward to Sun Valley.
Great views and terrain variety
Limited number of "cruiser" trails. Green slopes are equivalent to difficult Blue and Black trails at other western and eastern resorts.

Sun Vally is a great mountain. It’s never crowded, usually has good snow and the people are very nice. The town of Ketchum is wonderful and great restaurants.
Great mountain, never crowded
Difficult to get too, expensive

Advanced skiers will love this place. Intermediate snowboarders (like us) will likely hate it. Coming downhill on greens almost always requires some amount of traversing a catwalk. The catwalks at Sun Valley are narrow, long and have high exposure, very unforgiving on snowboards. My wife and I love other west coast mountains (Whistler, Heavenly, Bachelor, etc) but absolutely hated Sun Valley. Two days was all survival skiing only, no fun. Unless you can catch a storm, the snow is hardpack (again easier for skiers than snowboarders). Overall, cannot recommend this resort for snowboarding. There is a reason that skiers are 10 to 1 snowboarders here.
No lift lines
Poor snow quality (hardpacked, icy). Too many cat walks. Not snowboard friendly terrain.

Great place , deserves a few more lifts to increase capacity
Sunny spot, a great huge hill!

I enjoyed my visit but not a real skier’s mountain. Disappointing terrain and powder only lasts a day after a storm because it gets too much sun (hints the name) and makes it hard snow.
Cool vibes and ski town
Bad snow quality (less snow per year that Ohio) and not enough expert terrain

Sun Valley is a world class resort! The mountain is awesome, but so is the town! All the people, locals and tourists, are super friendly and welcoming. Gorgeous scenery and the best lodges of any resort we have been.
Great mountain, amazing lodges, super friendly people
Hard to get to

I’ve skied all over the world and everything at Sun Valley and Ketchum is first class. Great “real” town (not fake ski village) with really good restaurants and lots going on. Skiing is excellent on Baldy but it’s not a beginners’ mountain. It’s a skiers mountain with a huge vertical drop and tough terrain that is perfect for level 6 or higher skiers. Snowmaking is prevalent to make up for the historical early season lack of snow (although this year the snow was great). Novices will better enjoy Dollar Mtn. but there isn’t much terrain diversity or vertical on Dollar. But for families there is a ton to do other than ski: tubing, ice skating, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, sledding, and a free bus service that takes you anywhere around Ketchum and Sun Valley. Bottom line: our entire experience was simply first class. Special note on the Sun Valley Ski School - It’s on the expensive side, but worth it. Really professional and friendly staff and an excellent program for kids. Our 8 and 10 year-olds LOVED their experience with Sun Valley Snow Sports at Dollar Mtn.
First Class all the way
Baldy is tough for beginners

Have always wanted to ski Sun Valley. I think I just came too early in their season. More snowmaking on open trails than I've ever experienced this far into the season in the Rockies. It looks like this place would be a blast to ski with good coverage, but this visit was subpar.
Beautiful mountain, great service
Poor Snow Conditions
