New Gondola and the Bowl
Covid capacity, customer service
Full review
Snowbowl is forcing customers to prepurchase lift tickets in advance, which is understandable with all their covid restrictions in place. However, they know what their capacity limit is and they continued to sell over the capacity limit anyways, knowing they would have to turn people away. I have a season pass and intended to use one of my buddy passes this weekend. We drove over 3 hours to get to the mountain and arrived by 9:30AM, the mountain opens at 9AM. They were turning all cars away at the base of the mountain due to "covid capacity" limits yet everyone at the base of the mountain had already pre-purchased tickets. Hundreds of cars were stuck at the bottom in a disorganized mess. You can't get a hold of Snowbowl by phone whatsoever, and none of the employees had any information to give us, other than telling us to request a ticket refund later. This business willingly sold tickets knowing they would be turning hundreds of people away.
Season passes are by no means cheap. It is already Mid January and the mountain hasn't even been able to open 50% of it's trails yet. They have absurd restrictions set in place on a mountain that has more than enough room for everyone to be there and social distance properly. What they don't take into account is how much time and money people spend to get here, we play by the rules, but we lose either way.
