It’s a mountain with snow
Poor Facilities, disorganized management, slow lifts, underwhelming après ski

Full review

Went to Stratton for the weekend and was not impressed. We will not be going back unless serious changes are implemented through out. The lifts are very slow and the lift operators are in way over their heads. We saw 3 separate incidents with people falling off while getting on the lifts; but the lift operators did nothing (no slowing down the lift, no asking the fallen persons if they are ok. It’s alarming.) On the first day we were there, the gondola was shut down due to sustained winds (understandably not the fault of management); but this made the line wait times unbearable. The lodges and facilities are seriously lacking in appearance and maintenance. There is no place to sit at lunch due to overcrowding; the bathrooms are also overcrowded and not well maintained, the locker room has no place to sit to take boots off, because the seats are taken over by piles of boot bags and equipment. The word “resort” is a misnomer here... yes it is a ski mountain, but a resort, it is not. We signed up our sons (age 8 and 10) for the full day school. Nobody that worked there had any idea where the ski school drop off was.. We kept getting sent from one building to another by Uninformed employees. After getting bounced from one building to another 4 times; with several other parents and children in tow, I called the 1-800 number and had the customer service rep tell me where the drop off was.. When we arrived at the location, all the other parents were complaining about the same disorganization... rather frustrating to say the least. Stratton has a lot of growing to do before they can call themselves a resort. Tremblant is owned by the same parent company and it is the completely opposite of the displeasing Stratton experience.
