A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
I got my skis tuned here and went night skiing when I picked them up and had a great time! I enjoyed apres ski in the bar afterwards and am considering buying new equipment from their knowledgable staff. It was evident by the tracks through the trees on steep terrain that some very talented skiers come here. This is a real gem, a great asset to the community, wonderful for working folks and families, has definitely changed the lives of some of the kids that have learned to ski here for the better. What a wonderful place, giving us all a reason to love winter!... Full Review

Willard Mountain is a very friendly establishment and they offer a few trails for very small children, and about two trails made for intermediate skiing. The place has potential but I was there about 3 days ago and there was NOT 1 JUMP of any kind, it’s now the end of January and there is not even snow in their so called “terrain park”. It’s a decent place if you like to ride straight down the mountain but if you are looking for any kind of Park or Jump features, there literally are 0 available at this place, Pathetic.... Great little mountain that's a great value and you wont be able to find more personable and involved lessons for beginners than you will at Willard.... Full Review

As another review noted, the ski school was completely overcrowded. Moreover, it was a very frustrating experience for a new skier (4 yr old). The beginner slope was essential 25 feet of a slight grade and runs of carpet that the kids had to sidestep up. This in and of itself wasn't terrible, but they did nothing to keep the kids moving and as a result one kid would simply stop on the carpet and the rest were stuck behind them resulting in very cold and tired kids. If your child got 4 runs in (on the 25 foot "run") they were lucky. Moreover, the ski school should have cancelled their dates when the windchill drove the temp well below zero. If 75-90% of your kids either leave very early or don't show up at all to a lesson you need to bite the bullet and reschedule those days. Say what you want about costs and scheduling instructors, the Mountain simply needs to decide if they want to be part of helping kids learn to love skiing or hating it. This season they fell into the latter and that's that.... Full Review

I love Willard, and I've skied Utah, CO and Alps. It was the perfect place to bring 3 beginners, by end of holiday week they progressed from beginner to novice able to to do Willard's Black Diamonds (which would really would be Green on other higher mountains). The people who work there are so helpful and friendly. I loved the ease of basically parking right next to the lodge, rentals, ski school and lifts. It would be perfect for anyone from aged 2-70 learning to ski. You feel fine just letting your pre-teens just go. Great place to learn to snow board. Can you tell I love Willard. I was kept busy enough while other were in school, trails offered enough fun, elevation and moguls to keep me happy!!... Full Review

We enrolled our child into Little Colonel ski school and experience was very disappointing. They had about 40 kids on the small 30 ft slope and each kid could do 2-3 runs in an hour. When we tried to bring our kid to another learning slope, they told us in a very rude form to get off the slope.. ... Full Review
We went to Willard with our three children for the day. Rates were reasonable, slopes were groomed perfectly. great for all levels of skiing and boarding. Fire pit in the lodge. They even have tubbing. We will be back for that. You can even bring a cooler with food and drinks. That makes it much more cost efficient. The staff is great. We will be back soon. Thank you everyone at Willard for making our day great.... Full Review
First time there w/ my sons- they thought it was "awesome". Conditions good except 1-2 black diamond trails. Trail markings could be better. Minimal waiting, so constant skiing.
Apres ski w/ live band in the lodge. Then, after dark, serpentine pattern down the mountain by staff carrying flares followed by fireworks- very cool.
We'll be back.... Full Review
