Reviews for Kelly Canyon Ski Area
A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
At least ten people were aghast that I chose Targhee and Kelly on my trip rather than Targhee and JH. My answer? I always have the best days at small mountains. That's an unwavering truth in my life.
It's not crowded, it's affordable and family-oriented, and the vibe is absolutely unbeatable. The new owners and staff are so proud and excited about their vision for the future that it's contagious.
Can't wait to go back. ... Full Review
We have season passes to this great local resort. I feel very privileged to live close enough to ski there on a regular basis. The new owner has put a HUGE amount of work into the place, adding a great new lift, re-doing the entire base lodge, hiring friendly people, and making it a go-to place locally. I would say my only negative is the parking lot, but we are very hopeful it will have some of the same attention given to it that the rest of the resort has soon. ... Full Review

Kevin the cook and Ezra who work in the Half Cab Cafe did a great job! The food is always great! Also the lift attendant at the top of the new triple chair did a great job keeping the platform groomed where you get off the lift.

This place is a joke. Expect bad prices for an absolute horrible hill that hasnt had money put back into fixing it up in atleast 10 years. The ownership needs to retire and get out of the way. The lifts are always broke down. The snow is horrible. They write there own reviews so that the public doesnt know really just how bad they are. No holiday discounts here, expect prices to jump 20-30%.... Full Review
Friendly place and perfect for learning to ski. It is very affordable especially with a group discount or nightly special. They have one of the most efficient rental shops anywhere. They can set up large groups fast! Too bad they don't run a groomer and get the lights fixed for night skiing.... Full Review
I love skiing pretty much wherever I go. If I can go, I will. I LOVE Kelly Canyons, but the ski lifts are kind of slow. They could use some speed. I also really like the trail Earnies. They need to put lights on that trail. It's my favorite, but at night (when I usually go with my school) I can't see the trail.... Full Review
I don't care what anyone says, I love it here!! I started snowboarding last season and love that I can try new tricks without the pressure that I feel at Targhee. It's laid back and way inexpensive, perfect for your average struggling college student. I love it. ... Full Review
This is a good place for beginners, as its really cheap, but other than that, its not very good. There are 4 double chairs that go maybe 500' vertical. The runs arent steep, and most the time I go there the snow is bad. Its a fun place to learn, though. I sometimes would rent telemark skis (I snowboard) and teach myself there. It was cool cause rental included i paid less than $30.
Good for beginners or trying something new (tele skiing, snow skates, snow bike, why not!) but thats about it... Full Review
