A far cry from the days visionary founder and legend, Walter Schoenknecht. Management now seems resentful and hassled by customers. During Covid this has grown even worse. Lines and ticket limitations are to be expected, but management has given staff permission to use Covid to feed petty power trips. Staff regularly screams at customers, in the lodge, a the lift and in the lot. They regularly kick people out of the lodge (even with young kids, all fully masked and while waiting in long lines for food from the overpriced cafeteria), and generally treat customers as a nuisance. They have taken advantage of the affluent NYC market, but with unparalleled anger, resentment and bitterness. I can see this being appealing for a day if you can avoid interaction with staff, but you’d be better off going thirty minutes north or west for a bigger mountain, better terrain, and most of all - respectful customer service. They have such an opportunity to create a magical environment, but first need to fix the toxic culture.... Full Review

This place is fantastic, if you live in CT or near Mohawk Mountain, I highly recommend this place. Great runs, great snow, some ice (but I went on a warmer day that freezes at night). Best of all, they know it's hard for active duty members to have a good time and how much crap we get. I really appreciate the discounted day passes that we get. Thank you! ... Full Review

These people are the worst thieves and liars I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Shortly after arriving, when a few hundred dollars was spent on equipment rental, ski lift ticket, and a private lesson, the lift and lodge lost power. Obviously, the mountain was now impossible to ascend. To make matters worse, they required that everyone evacuate the area, lodge included. We were thrown out to the street like dogs. Instead of offering refunds like honest people, they offered a voucher to return another day. Even after I explained that I lived two and half hours away from the lodge and could not return, the owner / manager didn’t have the decency to act like a gentleman and offer a refund. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, and they responded by saying that “The customer agreed and accepted the voucher. They have further advised that the voucher has not been returned and is in the customer’s possession.” There are a ton of other ski areas for you to choose from. If you feel comfortable dealing with digesting and nautilus liars like Mohawk Mountain, then good luck to you. I would like to see how they respond to this feedback, claiming that I am lying. I was on vacation to have a good time with my boy folks, not to conspire to write negative feedback.... Full Review
