Drove up with my son last week from Denver. It took over 20 minutes to get to the top on a lift that creeped along and stopped completely 3 times. It was windy and cold so a terrible experience.Too many don’t know how to ride the lift and fall loading or unloading. Management doesn’t seem to care. Next time we are going to Loveland.... If you're a casual skier who just wants to hit a few runs without breaking the bank or teach someone to ski, this is going to be paradise. If you're looking for an intense challenge, or somewhere you can bathe in vanity, there are other hills just up the road.... Full Review

I'm writing this review to share a really bonkers experience I had with the ski school. I booked lessons for my two kids ages six and seven. The next day I got a call back from the ski school explaining their policies to me. These included: 1) no chance that an instructor could show either kid how to get on a chairlift during a lesson. 2) there's a resort policy that says no kid under 15 can get on a chair lift by themselves. 3) due to covid the instructor cannot get on a chairlift with the pupil. (At the time I'm writing this the CDC says masks are only required indoors by the way) It really sounded like they just didn't want to bother with giving my kids a lesson and they invented a bunch of excuses to convince me to cancel it. So that's just what I did. I hope none of this happens to anybody else.... Full Review

Messed up with man made moguls on runs that used to be good, chairlift is very slow or not working, not that many runs and some are blocked off for racing. Used to be a great area.... Full Review

Disclaimer: Have not tried the back basin with expert runs, so no review on that side. If you have kids, are a beginner or intermediate, or want a fun filled day without hassles, this is a great place. Highly recommend if you are in a hotel or condo within an hour or so drive. ... Full Review

If you are looking for a passive mountain for kids to learn to ski, Cooper is a solid option. However you can go from the top of the mountain to the bottom without turning your skis. Experts will be incredibly bored.... Full Review

With the rich history of Ski Cooper it’s a sham that they don’t do more for military veterans and families . During World War II, Ski Cooper served as the training site for the 10th Mountain Division, based at nearby Camp Hale, and continues to host a Memorial Day celebration for the World War II veterans of this division. However, I guess the only honor veterans during one day a year and from 10th Mountain Division. Sorry everybody else’s who has served...you don’t matter. ... Full Review

I have visited and enjoyed this amazing location for wonderful skiing and beautiful views at least 7 times now with each visits ranging 5 days or more. I have NEVER had a bad experience. You go to enjoy the mountain, "Ski Cooper", you can do this and basically ski until you just cant anymore due to the fact plenty of runs and NO crowd. Easy access and friendly staff and VERY AFFORDABLE. The area affords others things to do as well just as dog sledding, snowmobiling in the back country {wonderful experience} The town of LeadVille is a quaint town to visit and stay and is very close to the mountain. One thing that would be nice for that particular area is better and reliable transportation to and from airport and from hotel to the mountain if one does not wish to drive themselves. I highly recommend 100% Ski Cooper for a ski destination and definitely will be back again soon. ... Full Review

Honestly, a pretty awesome change of pace from the hustle and bustle of COs more well known resorts. An amazing place to drop in for a few hours, soak in some views, hit some powder, and enjoy a crowd-free day. Definitely one of the best secrets in CO.... Full Review
