I feel Whistler has crappy hours during the winter. Most other mountains close at 3:30pm, where as Whistler closes at 3:00, and some chairs even earlier. As a Canadian, it is becoming increasingly difficult to take the family on a ski holiday to Whistler. Not only is the price of lift passes high, but also the price of hotel rooms are very expensive. All that said, the terrain that Whistler Blackcomb has to offer is second to none!
Fantastic Terrain
Snow is heavy compared to fluffy ‘champagne’ powder of the interior ski resorts.

One of my top 3 mountains and boarding experiences of all time. Unreal downhill runs above the tree line.
Amazing terrain. Massive runs. Stunning scenery.
It takes effort to get there

Love how easy is to take a break to enjoy a drink, a snack, or a full meal, whitin a few steps from the lift.
Great long slopes. You can spend a full day on each mountain or enjoy the gondola back and forth
Could be more affordable

This was my first trip to Whistler/Blackcomb. So fun, lots of great skiing, long runs and apres ski was super. Got the oppurtunity to do an early Dawn Patrol with Marius on tue morning after a big snow storm. Best $ spent for a great safe tour, rad powder and fun tree lines. I highly recommend Dawn Patrol! Best ski day yet!
Dawn Patrol was so rad! Lots of terrian to choose from for all levels.
could be overwhelming how BIG the resort is.

This is my 3rd trip to whistler booked last week of Jan hoping to escape any chances of the Pineapple Express . Wrong it’s rained inches and inches of rain, it’s raining from top to bottom. Alpine lifts closed due avalanche risk bottom is mud and the middle is ice or slush. Inquired about carrying over my 4 day epic pass till next year they said no dice. I hate to say it but know if I’ll come back just too much money s to spend for these conditions.
When it’s good best place in North America
It rains

The lines and prices big joke. Respect your time and any budget.
Location is nice
Overpriced by all means in all possible scenarios. Lineups are so long but you pay for couple hours skiing. When I say lines I mean non pick season.Disaster.

A snow gun equipped with its own generator was installed right in front of Blackcomb's accommodation of hundreds of rooms, and was in operation all day and night. On our sound meter the noise on the balcony remained above 70 decibels even between 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. It was a nightmarish experience. Snow gun itself might be okay but why generate motors that can be heard hundreds meters away over night?
Sleep with all night motor noise over 70 decibels

Without Blackcomb Glacier being open its advantage over other resorts is muted
A good and big mountain
Despite 1.8m show base, and a large amount of snow in the Village, Horstman TBar has not opened for the season and there is no access to Blackcomb Glacier one of the key attractions for upper intermediate and advanced skiers. This appears to be a delibera

Is a huge, diverse and beautiful place. Uphill access is incredibly good. The weather and conditions are often not great but there is always snow to find.
Good early and great late in the year
Too many non-skiers

Spent the week of March 4 - 11 at Whistler Blackcomb. Sunshine all but one day, grooming not the best I've seen, but still quite good. Lines were short if you know how to play them (e.g., don't go to the Whistler Gondola first thing in the AM, use Fitzsimmons chair instead.) Afternoon lines were non-existent. Yes, prices are high, but Whistler is a premier resort, not a podunk mountain. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lifts and gondolas operated dependably with one short delay experience (15 min one day at the Crystal Express lift.) Village has many places to eat from cheap to very pricy, you just have to do some research. Many British and Aussie skiers as well as Canadians. Scenic beauty from the higher mountain slopes is hard to beat. I will return.
Lots of slopes across two large mountains.
A light snow season for Whistler so far this year.
