I skied a bit in college but after over 20yrs I started to get my kids into skiing. This is a great place for young skiers (and older ones!) to get some experience. It is very inexpensive (can night ski for 4hrs <$120 for 4 skiers most nights). Most of the slopes are greens & easy blues. The terrain parks look to also be more for beginners although the Jaguar looks to be a black diamond but isn't always open. Most of the trails are open for night skiing. The staff is VERY courteous especially with younger skiers & very helpful. Never found there to be long lift lines except for the magic carpet on the bunny slope. Once you get more confident & visit other resorts though, Hidden Valley does seem to be somewhat limited as it is quite small (only 31 trails) and only can challenge you so much. The accommodations are limited and dated. Food in the main cafeteria is fair and not overpriced but it is limited. Haven't tried the one restaurant or bar. I thought the rental equipment was pretty decent and well maintained (although not always waxed).
