Big Mountain
Powder closed due to laziness

Full review

After a storm on a bluebird day, one expects - and at big sky, pays a steep price for - world class powder runs. Unfortunately, on New Year's weekend last Sunday all the good powder runs were closed for avalanche control. I understand playing it safe, but they barely even blasted the mountain. I heard one charge go off in the morning and it was pretty clear they had put in no attempt to blast it so it'd be safe to ski. That's just lazy, especially in perfect bluebird conditions on a Holiday weekend. Very top was scenic rides only and all the hiking along the adjacent ridges were closed off completely. Kind of ashame I'd heard great things but now I am not sure if I'll ever be back.
