great for intermediate and beginners
Lutsen lost their best terrain when they put the new 6 pack lift up. Now they only have 2 runs that funnel to the bottom of the chair, otherwise you are hiking a long way if you want to access any of the black runs on moose. Major letdown.

Full review

On the weekend of 4/6 -4/8/18, I drove 4.5 hours after working all day on a Friday. I made reservations that morning bc the website stated Moose Mountain would be open all weekend with all the primary runs open. However, when I picked up our tickets on Sat 4/7, Iwas informed Moose Mtn was closed due to electrical problems. i told the office staff that I never would have driven up there if I knew Moose would be closed. I stated I have been going to Lutsen for almost 20 years, and asked for some sort of discount, refund or comp for the big let down, and they refused to do ANYTHING. Moose is the ONLY place that has decent verticle in MN, and is why I drive there multiple times a year. I was told I could have both days refunded, however that doesn't account for the time, gas, food and accommodations I paid for (for myself and 2 daughters). To make matters worse, they claimed to have excellent Spring conditions, with soft moguls. We found nothing but glare ice, and moguls that were nothing more than giant ice cubes. I am an expert skier ( lived and worked as a ski bum in IT for 4 years, including professional ski patrol at Solitude), and those moguls should have been completely roped off. Explains why we were seeing multiple ambulances and one medi-vac helicopter. Overall, I do not think I will waste my money there any longer. They can keep my money, but lost my business(and my 2 girls') in the future.
