Summer In Whistler Is For Outdoor Adventure

Many people likely think of winter when they think of Whistler, and it’s for good reason, since it’s home to the largest ski resort in North America, Whistler Blackcomb. While it’s a playground for winter adventurers, Whistler opens up even more during the summer. Whatever adventure you can think of, you’ll find it here.

Whistler Blackcomb is your basecamp for extraordinary outdoor activities. Take the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, the world’s highest lift of its kind, to access 50 kilometers of high alpine hiking trails. Highlights include the Cloudraker Skybridge, accessible via the Peak Express Chairlift, which features incredible 360-degree views from Whistler Peak. Before heading back down, enjoy patio drinks at the Roundhouse Lodge Umbrella Bar, perched atop Whistler Mountain and with sprawling views of the surrounding mountains.

Whistler Mountain is also where you’ll find the world-renowned Whistler Mountain Bike Park. Home to more than 80 kilometers of trails spread throughout four distinct mountain zones, it offers more terrain than any bike park in North America. While it attracts avid mountain bikers from around the world, Whistler Blackcomb Bike Park welcomes riders of all abilities. It also has a great bike school featuring lessons and camps for every age and ability.

This is just the start of the great summer activities that guests can do in and around Whistler. Other highlights include zipline adventure tours, whitewater rafting, UTV tours, golf, and more.

Experience Whistler’s Vibrant Village

After a day of adventures around Whistler, it’s time to unwind in Whistler Village, featuring more than 200 shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants. The pedestrian-only Whistler Village comes alive in the summer with buzzing patios, outdoor concerts, and a vibrant atmosphere. Take in the views and vibes of the iconic Garibaldi Lift Company (GLC) at the base of Whistler Mountain, kick back on the patio of Beacon Pub & Eatery with any of their great craft beers, or enjoy fine dining at longtime Whistler favorite, Araxi. For families, the action takes place in the Upper Village, at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, at the Family Adventure Zone. It’s dotted with fun activities for kids, including mini golf, a ropes course, climbing wall, bungee trampolines, and more.
