New Zealand Blizzards Kick-start The Season
NEW ZEALAND - Both the North and South Islands experienced a fierce snowstorm July 5, dumping over half a metre of snow on most of the country's resorts.

Kiwi clubfields open
The South Island of New Zealand has had some healthy dumps of snow in the past week with the Canterbury Region receiving over thirty five centimetres. Most of the Mackenzie club fields are now open with the Canterbury clubfields set to welcome guests from this weekend onwards.

The hills are a little dry right now but that doesn't mean the New Zealand areas are cooling their heels. A lot has been happening during the off season and it looks like everyone is set to kick off the 2007 Southern Hemi season in mid-June.

Porter Heights Sold to Consortium
Porter Heights Ski Area has been sold to a new investment consortium and will most likely be redeveloped by its new owners. The area was sold for an undisclosed sum to Blackfish, a consortium of local and Australian investors in a deal arranged and advised by Christchurch investment bankers Murray & Company.
