Look, this is west Va. skiing, I like how all the people that posted as beginners were bashing beginners...mmmmm. The bottom line is that I love going to Winterplace, I get deals at a local hotel thats a few minutes from the slopes. The Hotel had resteraunts, bowling, basketball, gym, bar, etc etc. I am an expert skier teaching my kids how to ski. Yes, on weekends some peple should not be going to the top of the hill based on their skill level but the same stuff happens once you reach the face at Gore, Piko, Killington, etc, you just have to be careful. The kids love the ski school, they thought that the teachers were "cool". There we a few black trails, only one I would write home about but overall, it kept us busy for a few days. My suggestion, leave Sunday and take Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to ski (Non Holiday). If the conditions get bad, go bowling at the resort or shoot hoops with the kids....wait till if firms up at night and have some fun. Overall, great place for families with smaller kids that are learning, yes, once they can handle it, go to Utah. Please remember, this is west Va not Taho..... By the way, to the poster that was complaining that people were on his skis, all you have to do is a little jump while you are waiting in line, they usually get the picture...
