Full review

I have been to Snowshoe a number of times since moving from Michigan to NC in 2004. By far the best selection of terrain anywhere in the SE. It does get extreemly crowded on weekends and holidays, but what decent ski area doesnt. Two nice challenging runs in the western territory, though finnicky SE weather sometimes leaves them iced over (had a spectacular spill on lower shays in March 2006), but went back 2 weeks later to a late March snowstorm, awesome condition, and surprisingly short lift lines. If you go here, your best bet is midweek or late season. Usually most slopes are still open in late march. Cant say anything about lodging because I usually stay in Marlinton.
