Snowshoe Mountain, located in Pocahontas County, is the largest winter resort in the mid-Atlantic. Two black diamond trails comprise an area called The Western Territory, boasting a 1,500 foot vertical drop, 60 percent pitch, and 1.5 miles in length. Two distinct mountains are skiable on one lift ticket. The Village of Snowshoe features high quality lodging with Rimfire Lodge, Highland House, Allegheny Springs, and the Senaca Lodge. Skiers and snowboarders will find 15 acres of expanded terrain at the Snowshoe area of the resort. Yew Pine is a half-mile long novice trail. Snowshoe, cross country ski, or take a snowmobile out to the fire tower on the eastern ridge.
The Seneca Lodge, in the north portion of the Village at Snowshoe, is the most recent addition to Snowshoe's lodging.

The Outpost Adventure Park: climbing wall, miniature golf course, BMX, skate park, sand volleyball, and playground. Snowshoe Mountain Outfitters: sporting clays and flyfishing. Additional activities: hiking, Eurobungy, paintball, horseback riding, carriage rides, disc golf, extreme golf, team building programs, naturalists programs, and guided Hydrotraxx Amphibious ATV tours. Off-site activity information and reservations are available through the Outdoor Adventure Program or Guest Services include rock climbing at Seneca Rocks and whitewater rafting. Outdoor Adventure Program can arrange reservations and transportation for those interested in caving. Additional off-site activities include wakeboarding and water skiing.
All 57 trails are open to snowboarders. Two terrain parks, a huge halfpipe, and many rails.
