Diversity of Terrain, Glades, Grooming, Staff
Wind, Lift Speed, Traverses
Visited Bush for 2 Days in early January; we were torn between spending an extra 2 days at Stowe/Smuggs or coming to Sugarbush, sided with Sugarbush and were very pleased. We had great early season conditions, with a few inches the previous day which had unfortunately been washed out on main trails, though glades were stellar. Unfortunately the wind was blowing hard, and many lifts were put on hold, essentially shutting down Castlerock but hey, you cant control that. What we could ride, however, was excellent. Aside from a few traverses which were in essence, flat if not uphill, the mountain is diverse in terrain with something for everyone. It may be geared a bit more towards the intermediate/advanced based on slope, but again, that's an opinion. Staff was friendly, Lifts were a bit slow, as in very slow, which ate up time. Open faces are vulnerable to high winds which we experienced each day there. Overall, great experience.
