New High Speed Summit lift
Still a long run-out from East Bowl

Full review

Burke is putting in a High Speed Summit Quad! I visited Burke this past weekend during a beautiful clear sunny day and drove up the Toll Road. Near the top of the ascent, the road crisscrosses the new lift line. The footings of the new lift towers were being installed and the area for the summit terminal had been cleared and prepped. I went back down the mountain and went over to the Mid-Lodge where a crew from Leitner-POMA was working on concrete forms. The base of the new lift is just below the Mid-Lodge where part of the parking lot used to be. It runs up the mountain roughly parallel to the old POMA surface lift and ends at the summit just above the old Willoughby Quad. Word is the new lift will take half the time of the old lift (or roughly 7 minutes) to get to the top! The new lift line looks like it will be very fun to ski as it will likely be intermediate for the top 1/3rd and Expert for the lower 2/3rds.
