The lower mountain is great for beginners and families, with wide, gentle slopes perfect for learning or building confidence. Went to Burke this past Saturday in warm spring-like conditions. This is after having spent the previous day at Jay Peak. Was amazed by the conditions despite the warm weather. Not much of the mountain was open, but what was there was great. Steep, fast, wide trails, long vertical. Fast lifts. Definitely a skiers mountain. Like how the beginners section and lift is separated from the rest. Will definitely be back and would actually choose Burke over Jay Peak any day. Great for laps and staff was also very nice. Also fun to see some amazing skiers from the Mountain Academy.
