English (US) (Change)Rising above the village of Ludlow, in south-central Vermont, Okemo Mountain Resort is a family-owned, four-season, outdoor enthusiast’s playground. Originally, a small community-run ski hill, Okemo began to blossom when, in 1982, Tim and Diane Mueller purchased the ski area and transformed it into the popular, world-class resort that it is today. The Muellers also own Crested Butte Mountain Resort, in Colo., and they operate state-owned Mount Sunapee Resort, in N.H.
In 1961, Okemo Mountain Resort was one of the first ski areas to develop ski in/ski out slopeside lodging and now offers one of the largest inventories of mountainside accommodations in the East.
Cafeteria, lounge, and restaurants. Including a wine room at the Coleman Brook Tavern, located in the Jackson Gore Inn. Ski and snowboard shop, storage, rental, repair, sundries shop, and learning center. Daycare center for children ages 6 months to 6 years along with ski patrol, first aid, and a hospital 16 miles away. Ninety-five percent snowmaking.
Okemo Mountain Resort offers a variety of activities aside from alpine skiing and snowboarding. Visitors and resort guests can enjoy ice skating at The Ice House at Jackson Gore and snow tubing in the Jackson Gore base area. At the Okemo Valley Nordic Center, groomed and well-marked cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails traverse snow-covered meadows and meander through hardwood forests. The Spring House is a fitness and aquatic center featuring a recreational swimming pool with lap lanes for designated swim times, a children’s pool with a whimsical frog slide and numerous splash and water fountain features, and a five-person hot tub. The facility houses locker rooms, saunas, a multi-purpose studio for fitness classes, a large room for weights and cardio equipment and a racquetball court. Golfers can maintain their game with an indoor facility that includes swing stations, a nine-hole putting green and Full Swing Golf Simulator with a variety of courses to play from around the world.
Okemo has the laser-guided-cut Ross Powers Superpipe, and five parks: The Dew Zone Jib Park, SoBe Super Park, Tomahawk FamilyCross Park, Hot Dog Hill Terrain Park, and Inn Bound Park.
