Founded in 1872 with the first hotel to be built being the Lomnica, followed by the Majestic Grand Hotel Praha, which today has service standards and room prices of Western European standards. The skiing is possibly unique in that the 1950s access cable car is so inadequate your uplift time has to be booked in advance and it's rarely possible to get more than two ascensions a day. A lot of development potential with the second highest mountain in the Tatras.
