This was our first trip of the season and Sugar's opening weekend. Our first time snowboarding and took lessons. They only had a couple of slopes open so the base was very crowded with people learning. This is one of the more popular mountains in the area and that can be the problem with the crowd situation. The lesson was excellent. Our teacher, Wendy =) , was excellent and we learned a lot from her. There was always ski patrol passing which made us feel good =). The only real con about this place is definitely the crowd. The experienced riders were having a tough time going through all the inexperienced riders. The Lodge and gift/pro shop was excellent. the prices were great on the safety gear and other ACTUAL NECESSITIES. The food wasn't too great. reminded me of the stuff that was served in high school. it was very much more expensive than the food needed to be. i suggest buying a bunch of burgers cheap and keep them in your car. Prices overall could be better.
