I had not skied Catalooche in at least 12 years and was pleasantly surprised by the resorts' improvements in snow making and coverage of all the terrain. I took my kids this past weekend to get a skiing fix since going out west was not in the cards this year. The weather was uncooperative but we still had a good time skiing due to the excellent base in place. Skiing in the region is hit or miss however with advances in snow making it is much better than in years past. In addition, the resort is one of the closest to our home in Atlanta thus making the trip easier than to the region's other ski areas. The only disappointment was the equipment rental staff, to say they were non-attentive and disinterested is as nice of a characteriation as I can make. Some comfortable chairs in the lodge would be a wonderful addition.
