I have skkiied at Catamount for years (my wife grew up here). My two kids learned to ski here (and have since both gone over to riding snowboards). I have been all over the world skiing, but for a nearby place that you don't need to pay for overnight lodging - this is great. With a season's pass, one can ski all winter within a budget. The terrain has all variety so it is a natural for learning. The terrain park is actually better than most of the bigger areas around. My advice spend your nearby time here to keep limber, then forget about the rest of the Eastern ski areas and spend your money on a trip out West or to Europe.
