I was a bit hesitant about any good skiing in the midwest after 2 weeks of 50+ degree weather but was not disappointed after my 6 hour ride from Chicago to Big Powderhorn. About half the hill was closed but lift ticket prices had been dropped to $20.00. I've paid over $40.00 closer to home to ski ice, slush, and mud. The runs that where open were in excellent shape, no ice or that hard frozen snow that gets your skis chattering. I'm not hesitent to choose Big powderhorn again for some good spring skiing.
