It seems like more experienced skiers think butternut is more for beginners, but my boyfriend who's a beginner snowboarder found it to be too advanced for him, so it seems ideal for intermediate levels. I'm a beginner to intermediate skier and really enjoyed most of the trails. We went on a holiday so the lift lines were crazy long but they did move pretty fast. Even on this busy day the slopes didn't seem too crowded.
Con: My boyfriend had to try like 5 different rental boots because they all ended up being broken which they said was because they hadn't gotten a chance to fix the boots after the busy weekend. So all that did cut into about an hour of our ski time.
But all in all, it was a great time!
