Full review

I grew up skiing all over New Hampshire and Vermont. Then we discovered Sunday River when we had kids. It has been everything the family wanted, hands down (They're now in their 20's and still enjoy it.) We love to ski Vail, but when not out West, this is definitely it. We stay in Bethel. Cute little town, wonderful inns with great food, crackling fires, etc. Worth the 10-15 minute drive, especially for those with no kids who would prefer a good meal over a lively bar scene.. After 20 years, we're still discovering areas of Sunday River. The snow was great this week and the several glades were a great switch from the open slopes. So were the ungroomed mogul runs at Oz. Others complain of the "boring" cross trails, but we really appreciate being able to get from any part of the mountain to the farthest reaches without getting on a lift!! Contrast that with Killington! What's this about lift lines? Even on weekends, when the mountain is largely open, you can always find a place where there is no more than a 5-minute wait. The singles line goes super-fast, even at the ever-popular Barker Quad. We're both experts, but wanted to polish up our mogul skiing, especially on variable snow conditions. We surprised ourselves by taking a Perfect Turn class. We came away learning something and having a great time. Anonymous
