What unique place! Lookout mountain is a trip back to the nostalgia of skiing in the 1980s from the historic lodge to the friendly locals. Wallace just down the road after!
Small mountain, great powder!
Slow lifts

Great tree runs! Perfect snow! Wish you could ski longer than you are on the lift.
Great snow!! Beautiful tree runs.
Slow lifts.

Lookout is one of the last great NW ski hills not taken over by the masses. Best snow around. Anyone complaining should probably just take their business elsewhere because this place is Great. Eric S.
Great snow, runs with decent fall lines, simple and rustic
Everyone is figuring it out

Cannot wait to go back!
Excellent snow…even in April!
Lifts are slow…but the conversations on them are awesome.

Best ski area regionally.. Great small-hill vibe and some of the most and best snow in the state. It has become too crowded on weekends in recent years with the local population boom. Week days are still very relaxed with very short lift lines. Bad office management experiences should not be confused with the fun of skiing at Lookout Pass. And vistors who complain about such safety measures as having to leash snowboards and Tele gear are free to ride elswhere and hopefully will.
Great snow.. Great value
Could use more terrain, longer runs

Got told to leave the lodge after about 20 minutes. Was the DD for my friends and grading some of my students papers in the lodge. Said I wasn’t allowed to be there - very rude staff. More interested in making a buck than a safe and sober commute to and from the mountain. Unreal. Saw an entire family get kicked out too. Was to to buy something, eat it, and leave. Not a business I want to profit off my dollar.
Decent mountain

Lots of staff talking down to me and being rude. They have a rule about having a leash for your snowboard which i hear is new this year. There were lots of people on the hill making fun of it so i get people are not impressed with the rule. I haven't used one in over 20 years and none of the big mountains I got to require them. They wouldn't let me get on the lift without one so i tied a little string on to appease the safety freaks. I won't be going back to this hill. As I was leaving they had a very large propane tank burst causing a serious hazard to everyone on the hill. Do I need to say more!?!? Probably the worst experience I've had of the past decade at a ski hill.
Elevation/Snow
Rude staff, Too many rules, No steeps, Poor lifts

Good mountain to bring your family, lifts are slow and chair 2 breaks down some times. Lines seem to become longer every time I go! It needs to expand more rapidly to accommodate the growing numbers. I was there January 3rd 2021 and couldn't eat lunch in the lodge, all the tables were full upstairs in the bar, and on the 2nd floor. I had to eat outside I'm a local, I've had alot of fun at the mountain over the years!
Great snow
Mountain is growing more popular

If you want marble bathrooms and $25 GMO free organic hamburgers, don't go there. If you want a chill, laid back place that gets a ton of snow, has great tree skiing and virtually no lines.....this is your place. The lodge is primitive, cell service sucks and there are no high speed lifts. It's also under $50 for a day ticket. If you look just at the % of runs by level, you'd think this is a beginner/intermediate mountain. But that's misleading. There is a lot of good stuff for the advanced skier too, you just have to go look for it.
Snow, trees, short lift lines, right off I-90
Slow chairs, lodge

We attempted to ski there on Tues. March 17,2020 using our free reciprocal passes that come with our Brundage season passes. The people at the ticket office were very rude to us and our friends. First our friends, also from McCall, had called ahead to make sure their new 20-21 pass would be okay because Brundage had taken their 19-20 passes when they issued the new ones. No one at Lookout knew anything about their call and would not honor their word. Then they went on to tell us Brundage was closed so they wouldn't give us our tickets. Brundage hadn't closed yet, but they only looked at the headline. We had no web service so couldn't check. Brundage closed at the end of the day. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed and surprised at how rude, unfriendly and unreasonable the Lookout Pass employees/ticket office were.
Not so friendly...
