Full review

If you are considering skiing in CT with beginners or intermediates, Southington is a good choice, as it's accessible, easy to reach and friendly. I'm an experienced skier, but I go there with my family several times a year for the day (when we're not in VT). Compared to Mohawk and Sundown, it's closer to Fairfield and New Haven counties, and priced cheaper. The size of the mountain is similar to Sundown, and they do a good job making snow. You also only need to walk across the parking lot to get to the ski area. Good, inexpensive choice for a CT ski area.
