This year (2013) I started my kids (ages 8 & 6) skiing and tried a few different places near our home here in central CT. We first went to Ski Sundown and I was disappointed with a) how steep their kids hill is and b) how expensive their tickets were. So brought them to Mohawk and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. While it's a bit short the "bunny" hill at Mohawk is good - nice and wide at a good flat pitch. In addition I got two 4 hour tickets for $20 each. Compared to Sundown I have to say that Mohawk is the both the better hill and better value (Sundown's lift tickets were more $). Butternut up in MA is better than anything in CT but Mohawk is the best in the state.
