Pros: Nice lift operators, excellent ski lesson instructor, ski lesson deals
Cons: ticket office stuff is less than helpful, a long walk from some of parking lots

Tried WP for the 1st time on Dec. 12, 2011.
Due to lack of snow all Mary Jane and many WP lifts and trails were closed. That was disappointing. Main black diamond trails around Zephyr Express area had multiple icy areas despite of very few skiers and snowboarders that day (Monday).
We bought a very attractive package including lift ticket, full day ski lesson, and lunch from Liftopia well in advance and were looking forward to try it.
To our disappointment the ticket office stuff said that we were several minutes late and the best they could offer was lift tickets and a half day (3 hour ski lessons) and no lunch. Apparently, their system didn't leave them any other options. Obviously, refunds were not an option either.
On the bright side, the ski instructor (Pete) was excellent. He asked about the personal goals from the lesson and helped set up a plan to cover them. Pete would explain different aspects of a particular area such as handling moguls, trying hill jumps, etc. first and then we'd go and practice them. It helped me to stay focused and present and at the same time was relatively easy and fun.
Bottom line - the lift ticket + lesson + lunch package could be a great value but you must be at the meeting place on time.
Lack of snow and poor conditions of main black diamond trails warrant careful checking of snow conditions before your next trip to WP.
