first the good - the snow was excellent, the people were very nice, the shuttle service was the best i've used and it was not crowded.
now the bad - the town is spread out so much that you never get the mountain village "feel" that i love so much about skiing. I have a bad habit of comparing other resorts to Snowmass and Aspen. Steamboat is not in the same category. Snowmass has many more runs. You can ski new runs for days. I felt that I was going over the same runs every day at Steamboat.
I would rate Steamboat behind Aspen, Buttermilk and Snowmass area, but ahead of Breckingridge, Keystone, Copper mountain and Winter Park.
