Our pub in the base lodge is taking on a whole new life this season! We've redecorated and rebranded it as an Irish pub, "Katie O'Rourke's." It has tons of character now, and is warm and inviting, and has a definite Irish feel to it with the new lighting, and the browns and greens and golds. And what's more: there will be an annex beside the pub with seating for a new pub menu, with full wait service provided. Check out the "Facade" as of today. We just started on the "stained glass," so there's more on the way.
John's excited to show off the new gear in the rental shop. We purchased lots of new fleet skis, high performance skis, boards, & boots. It's all looking good, and John & team are hard at work getting it all organized and in the database. So when you're looking for rental gear this year, head straight to Cooper; we've got you covered!
We're all hard at work prepping for an awesome season. Cooper's management and supervisory staff just completed two days of training, covering HR procedures, IT policies, best practices, incident response, communications policies, and very importantly: lift evacuation training. Fortunately, we have historically done a stupendous job of keeping our lifts up and running, and Tim & Jon are top-notch lift mechanics. But we always want to be ready, just in case. And managers/supervisors aren't excluded from that training. Even Cheryl, the Snowflakes Retail Shop manager participated in our evac training!
Just a quick "word to the wise" - I saw some skinning tracks in the snow this morning. I know everyone is excited, but keep in mind that there is no base under this snow yet... that's why we're out packing it down right now, so that we get a base set up. If you're out on your skis on this snow, you'll find lots of rocks, stumps, waterbars, tall grass, and other obstacles. It's good to be excited, but be aware that it's still "boney" out there! We'll work as fast as we can to get a base laid down and ready.
