I have come out to Aspen two years in a row now. With my luck we've missed memorable powder days, but have had good snow that verged on deep powder at times. As for Aspen, its a tough mountain, definitely not for the families. Most of the terrain consists of greats dumps in the trees that end up funnelling into a few cruisers. The glades are where its at. Both years we found great snow in here. Like so many western mountains, it helps having a few locals to guide you around. Our buddy showed us some great stuff thats considered back country near Walsh's. Alot of traversing is required if you are gonna try to find untouched snow on the borderline OB areas, not good for snowboarders. Othewise, the pitch is one of the continually steepest in the West.
