Excellent bunny slope, good instructors
over-crowded, long lines, slow lifts, short runs

If you dont live in phoenix or Flagstaff, i wouldn't do it. It's seriously just a place to go. Not horrible because it's still snow and 'vacation', but all the college kids and locals (including phx) go there on weekends and holidays, so try to stay away unless you enjoy lines, and more lines. Sunrise ski resort (imho) is slightly better. Not as crowded (due to the extra hour of distance from phoenix, and the locals don't usually snowboard), a few more intermediate/advanced runs, more lifts, a little more ski area (the deomgraphics only show an extra 30 acres, but it feels like more than that). It is still very easy to learn on, but the bunny slope is pointless. I think it's about 200-300 ft long (no exagerration). They have many slopes that are very easy to traverse with slow grades too. same price...My opinion, learn to board or ski in flagstaff. Great bunny slope with awesome instructors. Go somewhere else after you get some confidence unless you only have time for a daytrip and you live close. I only do daytrips during the week, which isn't bad at all. Service in sunrise isn't the greatest either btw, and if you think the nightlife in flagstaff is just 'ok', sunrise is worse. If you are able, get out of AZ for a more optimal skiing experience, otherwise, just enjoy what you got.
