good bargain, well maintained
slow lifts, late opening day
Snowbowl is my home resort and is a good place to spend the say skiing or boarding. However, it's lifts are slow, and the road to get to Snowbowl usually has a "chains required" rule if you go in the heart of winter (this is extremely rare in spring, however.) The other reviews on here seem to bash Snowbowl a lot more than it deserves, but there are a few downsides to it. The terrain park does feature everything any major resort (i.e. Breckenridge) would accommodate, with the exception of a halfpipe of any kind. Snowbowl has some black diamond runs that would be easily be blues in Colorado, and some even green. However it does have some black diamonds that make you pee your pants just looking at them. If you go to the top of the main lift (agassiz) you can hike up for about 45 minutes for an epic run down the bowl. However, the longest lift-accesible run will be about 6 minutes from top to bottom. Lodges are good but you need to get there early in the day if you expect to find a table. Overall a good resort, can accommodate skiers of ALL skill levels.
