A ski resort with terrain for all levels and closeby lodging, lots of apres ski activities and a good ski school make for great vacations on snow.
Pennsylvania has a rich skiing and snowboarding history. The Pocono Mountain Range can often receive an abundant amount of snowfall, and the state’s relatively large size provides tons of space for ski areas who can provide great dining, lodging and après options as well.
The Eastern portion of the state boasts world class resorts like Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie; Blue Mountain is located just about an hour from the city of Philadelphia; Liberty Mountain, found just north of the Pennsylvania – Maryland border, has an impressive 100% snowmaking capacity.
Western Pennsylvania is no slouch when it comes to skiing either, just take Seven Springs Resort, who has a terrain park that pays homage to the nearby city of Pittsburgh; Hidden Valley Resort is located in the Laurel Highlands region.
