Blue Mountain Resort Trail Map
Blue Mountain’s terrain spans 171 acres and offers a vertical drop of 1,082 feet, making it the steepest in Pennsylvania. The resort features 34 trails served by 12 lifts, including high-speed sixes and quads, triple and double chairs, and surface lifts. Snowmaking covers the entire mountain, ensuring reliable conditions even during dry spells. The base sits at 460 feet, with the summit reaching 1,600 feet.
Beginners will find plenty of space to learn, with 46% of the terrain rated green. The Valley Lodge area offers gentle slopes and easy lift access, while the eastern side of the mountain features wide runs like Paradise and Homestretch, ideal for building confidence. The dedicated beginner zone near the lodge includes conveyor lifts and ski school facilities.
Intermediate skiers can explore runs like Dreamweaver and Shuttle, which offer steady pitches and scenic descents. Though only 11% of the terrain is marked blue, these trails are well-groomed and provide a smooth transition for those advancing from beginner slopes. The Main Street Express lift offers quick access to mid-mountain terrain.
Advanced skiers will enjoy the challenge of Razor’s Edge and Challenge, two black diamond runs known for their steep drops and technical sections. These trails are best tackled in the morning when conditions are fresh. The Burma Road area also offers advanced terrain with varied features and fewer crowds.
Expert skiers can test their skills on double-black runs like Widowmaker and Nightmare, which feature narrow chutes and aggressive fall lines. These trails run parallel to the lifts, offering spectators a view of the action. The longest run, at 1.2 miles, provides a satisfying descent from summit to base.
Freestyle riders will appreciate the seven terrain parks spread across the mountain. Sidewinder Park and Central Park cater to intermediate and advanced levels, while Lower Sidewinder and Terrain Run offer smaller features for beginners. The parks include 10 rails and are updated regularly to keep the experience fresh.
