We just returned from our annual Boys ski trip to Whitefish. It turned out.to be a bust. To begin our trip I was surprised by the language and quanity of signs on the mountain regarding the need to wear a mask. I was even more surprised by the staff's rude approach when pointing out and yelling at indivuals who's mask was not all the way above their nose. Keep in mind it was 11 degrees below zero. But my ulitmate dissappoint came when I purchased my lift ticket. We all paid full price but none of us were informed that they were not running but two chairlifts for the day? We got to ski intermediate and beginner runs all day on a cold and icy day. No Fun! I will not return. Whitefish found it so very importand to inform the visitor that they must wear a mask but had not signs or staff nottifying the customers that you were not gettting to ski the whole mountain but you will pay FULL price. ... Just got back from my trip from the 14th-19th and I was happy. The SNOW Bus is a great resource from traveling between the resort and Whitefish (just make sure to board the bus from the Base Lodge, because it stops there first and fills up quickly). The resort offered plenty of variety with the terrain and over the course of my trip I was able to work my way up from the blue groomers up to the black diamonds on east rim. Most reviews talk about a lack of lines at the lift and that wasn't my experience at all. With so many people able to work remotely due to COVID, the surrounding area has become flooded with people from the west coast. The average wait time for Chair 1 was 15 min for me, and most other lifts were on par or sometimes worse. If you like moguls and trees, Chair 5 at the East Rim was by far my favorite to use because the line was always less than a minute's wait. Visibility was poor most days so make sure you're familiar with the trail map to prevent yourself from getting lost. I didn't see any reviews mentioning the terrain park, so I'll say that there are jumps going all the way from small to medium/large and plenty of rails and boxes.... Full Review

Our visit was December 19-23 and we had a fabulous trip. The Whiefish area is out of a Hallmark movie very quaint and cozy. I really enjoyed the fact that there was a free snow bus to the mountain daily from 7AM to 5PM. The snow conditions were very favorable during our stay and the lift lines were maybe a 5 minute wait at it's busiest time. The staff was COVID conscious and required masks over nose and mouth while in line. The back side of the mountain going to chairs 7 &11 is where the best powder is. We will definitely be back again.... Full Review

We travel here every year for the last 6 years. Great people and a great mountain. It's cold and foggy sometimes but the lines are short, the runs are not crowded, the snow is great, good food on the mountain and it's very economical.... Full Review

My family and I have skied everywhere in Colorado and wanted something different, so we tried Whitefish. We won’t go back. It’s bone-chilling cold and cloudy/gloomy — the locals said sunny days are rare. The mountain is small and gets crowded, especially on the groomers — correction: on the groomed portions of runs, since most of the runs seemed to have moguls (which you can’t see in the flat gloomy light). The village is nonexistent so you have to drive into town or even into Kalispell if you need something or want to do something other than ski. We felt like we did the same few runs over and over. The kids (ages 4-16) were bored and cranky. Getting there isn’t hard but it isn’t easy. Overall, not worth it — we won’t be back! ... Full Review

So far I have skied three of four of my planned days… All exceptional skiing days! The snow is much better than the snow reports, powder everywhere, some ungroomed runs with fairly deep powder. Yesterday (Saturday) Lift lines were non-existent, skied into the lift every time.... Full Review

Lines tend be non existent here, lift tickets and housing are affordable and the terrain is as good as any mountain in the country. It’s clear that the original layout of the mountain lift system was not well though out 50 years ago. However, we’ve been coming here for more than fifteen years and have witnessed great upgrades to the mountain lift system by current ownership. I also hear there are many more upgrades in process. The addition of the flower point chair and moving chair 5 to the east rim area were huge improvements. Thank you! I’ve heard of upgrades to the Hellfire area and I hope they are considering upgrades to the right side (as you look up the mountain from the bottom) of the mountain as well. Russ’s street might be the longest catwalk in the country so I’m hoping they find a way to reduce that trek by providing lift service to the top from that side of the mountain. The fog can quite bad here but tree skiing helps and there are plenty of gladed areas around Flower Point. You can’t beat the lodging prices at the mountain. They are a fraction of what you might pay in Colorado. There’s not much by the mountain at night besides a small bar at the base lodge and Ed and Mully’s at the bottom of chair three. The town has several great restaurants but it is a good 15 minute drive away. overall, we love this mountain and look forward to seeing the new upgrades. It has its trade offs but the pros far outweigh the cons. ... Full Review

The people and town are beautiful. The snow is light and fluffy and the only downside is it is missing expert terrain. Great fun otherwise for the whole family. ... Full Review

Great local resort with plenty of terrain and very short lift lines. Fly into town via Alaska Airlines and ski for free on the day of departure. The town of Whitefish is fun and with a great mix of local vibes and tourists from the surrounding areas (Calgary, Seattle, etc). ... Full Review
