Disclaimer: Have not tried the back basin with expert runs, so no review on that side. If you have kids, are a beginner or intermediate, or want a fun filled day without hassles, this is a great place. Highly recommend if you are in a hotel or condo within an hour or so drive. ... Full Review

If you are looking for a passive mountain for kids to learn to ski, Cooper is a solid option. However you can go from the top of the mountain to the bottom without turning your skis. Experts will be incredibly bored.... Full Review

With the rich history of Ski Cooper it’s a sham that they don’t do more for military veterans and families . During World War II, Ski Cooper served as the training site for the 10th Mountain Division, based at nearby Camp Hale, and continues to host a Memorial Day celebration for the World War II veterans of this division. However, I guess the only honor veterans during one day a year and from 10th Mountain Division. Sorry everybody else’s who has served...you don’t matter. ... Full Review

I have visited and enjoyed this amazing location for wonderful skiing and beautiful views at least 7 times now with each visits ranging 5 days or more. I have NEVER had a bad experience. You go to enjoy the mountain, "Ski Cooper", you can do this and basically ski until you just cant anymore due to the fact plenty of runs and NO crowd. Easy access and friendly staff and VERY AFFORDABLE. The area affords others things to do as well just as dog sledding, snowmobiling in the back country {wonderful experience} The town of LeadVille is a quaint town to visit and stay and is very close to the mountain. One thing that would be nice for that particular area is better and reliable transportation to and from airport and from hotel to the mountain if one does not wish to drive themselves. I highly recommend 100% Ski Cooper for a ski destination and definitely will be back again soon. ... Full Review

Honestly, a pretty awesome change of pace from the hustle and bustle of COs more well known resorts. An amazing place to drop in for a few hours, soak in some views, hit some powder, and enjoy a crowd-free day. Definitely one of the best secrets in CO.... Full Review

We (two adults and two elementary-age children) spent three days skiing midweek at Ski Cooper in early January 2019, as we had a reciprocal benefit to ski there for free with our season pass from another ski hill. We loved that we had the hill virtually to ourselves. There was never any wait at all for the lifts, and you could ski down a whole slope and not see another person! Prices, even without our amazing deal, were extremely affordable. The four of us rented skis for $186 total for all three days. The lodge at the bottom of the hill had good basic food, again for really low prices. Everyone we met was super friendly and helpful. There were lots of completely newbies there, and they were being looked after really well. The runs were long and wide, and we had great conditions when we were there, with lots of fresh snow. All in all, we loved the welcoming, down-to-earth atmosphere and would recommend Ski Cooper to anyone looking for an unfussy, inexpensive family skiing experience. ... Full Review

Best hidden secret in Colorado. Excellent service. Best value on passes and rentals. Almost no lift lines. Good long beginner and intermediate runs. Lots of history. A family can still visit without breaking the bank.... Full Review

Ski Cooper is an awesome mountain - great for families, beginners, and intermediates. The small size and more family-focused atmosphere might leave something to be desired for expert skiers, although there is some incredible tree skiing if that's your jam. As a relatively new skier to the Colorado Rockies, Cooper has been a perfect spot for me to get my feet wet and enjoy some incredible powder!... Full Review
