Today will be 32° with an east wind around 5mph, becoming calm in the morning. There may be areas of freezing fog before 9 AM. There is a 70% chance of snow throughout the day, with a total 24-hour accumulation of less than 1".
The snowpack is primarily frozen granular, which is defined as a hard surface of old snow formed by granules freezing together after rain or warm temperatures. This type of snow will support a ski pole stuck into its surface. Snow near base facilities is dense and slushy.
Temperatures will be dropping this coming week, with light snow showers forecasted for tonight as well as Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
All beginner terrain has been groomed today. Intermediate groomed runs: Ego, Lower Hilary’s, Log Jam, Raven Runout, Cheechako, Motherlode, Marmot. Expert groomed runs: Spruce Chute (runout).
Today’s thought is this: Eaglecrest will be open tomorrow 1/17 for MLK day.
Thanks for checking in on today's mountain report. Have a good one!
