  • 'Avalanche Days' at Granite Peak

    Leading up to the end of the season it's two weeks of carnival-like atmosphere at Granite Peak. Located on Wisconsin's Rib Mountain overlooking the city of Wausau, the Peak's Avalanche Days Celebration begins Sunday, March 25 and doesn't until Sunday, April 8; the last day of the season.

    It's a day-trip worth playing hooky for if you're snowsports enthusiast; all freeway driving once you leave the big city and no huge crowds midweek. Milwaukee skiers and riders have about a three-hour drive to one of the Heartland's newest and largest ski areas, Granite Peak.

  • Oompah Music at Granite Peak

    Granite Peak celebrates an old Wisconsin custom the weekend of February 10-11 with their German Festival. Tipping its hat to the strong German influence in the Badger State and a long tradition of making suds, the Peak celebrates with German beer served in the Bear's Den Saloon, polka music, kielbasa, sauerkraut and a little skiing.

  • Granite Peak Annual Family Festival

    The Granite Peak annual Family Festival, held the weekend of February 2-4, brings great lodging deals, free ski rental for the entire family, free child lift ticket with each paid adult ticket, fireworks, horse drawn sleigh rides, live entertainment in the Bear's Den, and, of course when you're in Wisconsin, a brat fry.

  • Granite Peak Family Festival

    Family Festival takes place at Granite Peak, Wisconsin's premier ski area, the weekend of January 19-21. The package includes two nights lodging, two days of lift tickets - one free child per paid adult ticket - along with two day ski rental for the entire family.
