I caught great snow, bottomless powder. More mellow terrain than many resorts. Tree skiing runs are sweet. Food was good and as a vege that can be tricky. Used the ski bus from Ogden making access easy. Will return.
vast intermediate terrain and tree skiing
no one around

Love this mountain! Great terrain and amazing snow conditions for days after a good storm Too bad developers have to come in and turn it into another overpriced Park City or Sun Valley! You should never go away from the limited pass holders or lift ticket sales model.
The terrain and phenomenal snow conditions 1/15. Something for everyone!
For the price, the lifts should be detachable high-speed quads at least. quads

I have been skiing a few years now and live on the East Coast. We try to plan at least one trip a year out West for real skiing. My kids went without me last year, but told me I should really make the trip. I’m very happy I did. I had some anxiety the first day because although I ski I didn’t sleep much the night before and got nervous on the first slope. Dan, one of the resort ski host calmed my nerves and stayed with me for hours! He showed me around the slope trails, gave me tips, as well as history of the resort. Fantastic guy! Our last day I took a lesson with Sean. He was also wonderful! I was grouped with two teens, but Sean gave me different instruction to help me improve my skill set on the slopes, have more control, and build confidence. If you can swing the cost, go to Power Mountain the staff is the best I have ever experienced and the trails are fantastic too.
Not crowded at all

On April 1, 2022, my husband and I had the privilege of enjoying military day at PowMow. Best ski day ever! Blue skies, beautiful views, many wide and long trails. The snow stayed consistent throughout the day. Even better was "The Dan and Andy Show" Haha! Best Hosts ever! I laughed so hard that day. We went on runs that I wouldn't have tried had they not guided me. Thanks, guys!
Long trails, wide runs, great staff
The lift over Mary's Bowl is slow, causing you feel like a popsicle when you reach the top

Powder Mountain is a hidden treasure and this winter was my fifth year at Powder. For 4 of those years we have skied and been guided to the best hills and conditions by your hosts. What a wonderful discovery. Andy Schuster has been the organizer of this amazing experience. We are from Canada, Andy has named us "Team Canada" It is a girls trip. This year we came with 7 girls, we call ourselves the "Sistas" Andy knew we were coming and contacted us before we came and set up a time to meet at the Yurt. The 4 hosts have become our friends and we look forward to skiing with them every year and catching up on their families in addition to having amazing guided tours of the vast terrain. The four nain skiers call themselves the ADHD group. They are Andy, Dan, Hank Nelson Abbott and Doug. They all came out on different days to ski with us. We had an even bigger treat when Andy brought his Go Pro out and videotaped us, what a treat to post on Facebook so all could see the amazing mountain at Powder

First time at Powder Mountain with a learner, and intermediate and an expert. Dave S met us and volunteered to show us the mountain and did so with expertise, stories, good humor and a real love of this wonderful mountain. We had just been to Park City for several days during this season of little natural snow and found little but hard pack man made snow and near icy conditions. Powder Mountain had a very good cover of all natural, well groomed natural snow snd great condos. A great day of skiing. Thank you Dave S!
Dave S, our volunteer mountain guide.
No paper map, good for the environment but hard to get used to. But we had Dave S.

We visited UT right in the middle of a 1 month snow drought. Pow Mow had excellent grooming despite little snow, so big kudos to their Groomer team for working hard to keep it in really great condition (In comparison, the Cottonwood resorts were down to rock on some groomers and still over crowded & overpriced. Epic fail. Snowbasin had slightly better coverage than cottonwoods, but the grooming was average).
Great grooming, low crowds
Lifts a bit disconnected on groomer days (non-issue if there is pow)

I’ve skied at 119 resorts, and PowMow is best for the aspects I care about: more terrain, lots of trees, few people, high-enough snowfalls, and light snow. I will be a Mountain Host 2x a week next season, and will spend the whole of March slopeside (ski-in, walk-out). You can also get me, Julie, Loel, Dave, or Emily to guide you inexpensively into snowy tree, trail, and open bowl skiing that will contend for “best ski day ever”. You can lodge in Ogden, at the base of PowMow in Eden or Huntsville, or slopeside (elevation 7,300). More is at Up Top Alpine Hospitality, the site that helps skiers/boarders with lodging and guided tours in the Rockies, especially Utah. Even on weekend afternoons, a single rider and just one other human in sight is a common occurrence on many of the 8400 acres at PowMow. For comparison: Acreage at Powder Mountain, Utah, exceeds those of the combined FOUR major resorts in Utah’s “Cottonwoods”: Alta, Brighton, Snowbird, and Solitude. Acreage exceeds these combined four resorts in Colorado: Aspen, Beaver Creek, Steamboat, and Telluride. If comparing to Vermont, well the famous four “S” resorts there, Sugarbush, Stratton, Stowe, and Mount Snow combined are less than one third of Powder Mountain’s acreage. Indeed the skiable area of ALL 17 public resorts in VT, including Killington, could fit inside Powder Mountain’s skiable terrain. And PowMow’s skiable acreage is well larger than Whistler-Blackcomb’s. Canadian resorts are allowed to report “acreage” as anything in-bounds, even if the terrain is unski-able tight trees. Take that away from Whistler-Blackcomb and it’s 2/3 its reported size for actual skiing. (Yes, I’ve made a diligent comparison.) And so…the powder lasts longer here. I’m now a host and some-time guide at Powder Mountain. If you join me within 4 days of a snowfall, I promise to take you to powdery turns, in-bounds, on parts of every run.
Tree skiing is abundant, and easy. Nothing really steep, so getting lost here is fun.
If you care about Apres, you have 2 choices, but both good: pizza & PowderKeg
