Hi, just returned from a week in Scheffau staying at the Alpin. Had a very enjoyable week despite the conditions, although they did really well in the resort keeping the runs open considering the lack of snow. Thought the Alpin an excellent place to stay with children, good value and very comfortable. We stayed in the annexe with the pool and restaurant. Our room was comfortable and it was a pleasure to have a bath after a day on the slopes - although the bathroom was very old and did smell like a mens toilet which we weren't too pleased about! I think they have updated all the furniture as this was new, but the carpet was dirty and the bathroom pretty grotty.(although I have seen worse). Scheffau itself is pretty, but very quiet, there is no apres ski really so I don't think I would return because of that. Brilliant place if you have little ones as there is a nursery on site. Don't use the hire shop under the Alpin, the equipment is rubbish compared with stuff I have hired before. I was even given two different sized boots, so when we got to the slopes the skis wouldn't fit!! then they didn't have another set of boots for me - I'm a size 5.5, hardly unusual! There is a better hire shop at the bottom of the gondola, similar prices and much more professional - and staff more helpful! The lift systems are excellent and very efficient, our two children went in ski school, which again was very good and highly recommended. All in all, a good holiday, but preferred Soll as there is more going on. We stayed in the Tyrol last year which was a much higher style and class of hotel for the same money.
