We are a family of 4 and found this beautiful ski resort 12 years ago when we booked accommodation in Alpe d'Huez. Our two kids, 4 & 8yrs at the time took the open chairlift from Alpe d'huez across to Auris without a problem, where we enjoyed amazing skiing with no long Q's. We fell in love with the area and before we flew back home, bought an old farm house in a small village 5km from the resort _ La Ville. We have explored this beautiful region in both winter (for amazing family skiing) & during the Summer holidays for mountain biking, mountaineering, cycling and more recently - paragliding. We have been there for stages of the Tour de France which passes by Le Freney z(12 km down from Auris station) on route to the famous "21 turns" climb to Alpe d'Huez. We took the chair lift from Auris over to Alpe d'huez to be there to meet the cyclists as they crossed the finish line. Truly unforgettable. The local people are very friendly and you will get good value for money in the local shops if compared with many other French, Austrian, or Italian Ski resorts.
