This past fall, after years of living in Aspen, Darcy took up residence slope side in Snowmass. While she still considers herself primarily an Aspen Mountain skier, she's spending more time exploring her backyard hill like this pillowy line in Rock Island.

The day after graduating Middlebury College, Darcy headed toward the bigger hills of Colorado, taking a job based in Boulder as a Film Tour Marketing Director for Warren Miller Entertainment.

Besides plenty of time skiing inside the ropes of resorts, Darcy's main focus is backcountry touring - earning her turns in the wild snow of the Elk Range. She has completed the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse - an annual springtime overnight race through the high country connecting Aspen to Crested Butte. Darcy enjoys a cocktail in the lobby of the Little Nell hotel at the base of Aspen Mountain. Besides the Nell, you'll also find her enjoying après at the Aspen Brewing Company and the Highlands Alehouse.

Like many aspiring skiers, Darcy worked in the restaurant business after moving to a resort town - skiing during the day and waiting tables at night. Eventually climbing her way up the ladder to become the general manager at Brexi Brasserie, a certified Level 1 Sommelier and a sponsored skier.

Darcy and her husband Adam Moszynski (also a pro skier) are calling upon their extensive ski experience to start their own business, a base layer company called BARE (which stands for Be A Rad Earthling). Here Darcy goes over design concepts at her home workstation.

More recently, Darcy has also been picked up by KÄSTLE. She was lured to the Austrian-based performance ski company by Chris Davenport - a part-owner of the company and a fellow Aspen/Snowmass skier.

Darcy pores over swatches of bamboo fabrics - chosen for their low-environmental impact. Darcy and Adam want BARE Layers to spread the mountain lifestyle and give back to people in developing mountain cultures. Their inaugural collection will be for sale next Fall.

Eventually, being in Boulder at the edge of the Colorado mountains wasn't enough for Darcy, and in 2007 she moved to the heart of the high country, Aspen.

A little wind and snow isn't going to keep Darcy Conover - a pro skier based in Aspen/Snowmass - off the slopes. The Smith Optics and Marmot-sponsored athlete has skied in all kinds of conditions and terrain to get the shots Marmot and Smith need to promote their snow sports gear.
